Life is like a ??

Life is like a country song sometimes
Full of doubts with too many rhymes
You can lose everything that you had
Then accidentally meet your dear old dad

Life is like a box of chocolates someone said
Friends only gather when their being fed
When all the glitter and gold has gone
You’re usually left alone to soldier on

Life is like a precious gift from God
To know that heavens given you the nod
Which God you love is up to you
Mine is in here, no church nor pew

Life is like a lover’s first passionate kiss
It has bursts of pure joyful bliss
Life can lift you above the cloud
Can give you a voice to cry out loud

Life is like a merry go round
You often cover the same old ground
But to hear her voice every morning
Was such a sweet beautiful sound

Life is a like a dress rehearsal
For a show that never starts
We give our all to others
Then some run off with our hearts

Life is like a kamikaze
At times you’re blinded by the paparazzi
But do not sit this one out
Just because you have some doubt

Life is like a bottle of champagne
If it pops wrong it can cause pain
But if the cork is never taken out
You will never get to laugh nor shout

Life is like a candy filled piƱatas
You hit it hard and hit it harder
Take a risk and take a chance
Don’t get buried in brand new pants

Life is like a magician’s hat
it’s full of this and full of that
but if you never truly believe
you’ll waste much time and only grieve.

I'll drink to that

A politician that can listen, well I guess I’d drink to that
A dog that speaks, 20 hour weeks, well-- I’m sure I’d drink to that
A tale fulla good news a band playin the blues, now I know- I’d-- drink to that
A lady without clothes, a nose that really knows, yes ---I’d drink to that
And if I had to choose, I know what’d lose—
I’d--- never--want to be a bat

An alcoholic that’s systolic, well I guess I’d drink to that
A fuel that goes far, free drinks on the bar, well—I’m sure I’d drink to that
A rocket in my pocket, a home where ya don’t have to lock it, , now I know- I’d drink to that
A gnome that didn’t roam, a home to call a home, yes ---I”d drink to that
And if I really had to choose I really know what’d lose,
I wouldn’t want to be a prat

An ambition with definition, well I guess I’d drink to that
A fridge with auto fillin that was always over spillin, well-- I’m sure I’d drink to that
Someone to really love me that I’d never put above me, now I know- I’d drink to that
A lady oh so pretty not born of silver or of city, yes ---I’d drink to that
If I had to choose, I know what wouldn’t lose—
for I’d really love-- to be her cat

A word that’s not absurd, well I guess I’d drink to that
People that are nice, that can give good advice, well… I’m sure I’d drink to that
Friends that surround me with good times that abound me, now I know- I’d drink to that
A tongue that’s always witty ,good ideas for a ditty, yes ---I’d drink to that
A decision easy made I’ll pass on the accolades, the Mudgee Budgie’s tops,
Lets all drink to that
